Privacy Policy

Last updated: 21 March 2026

1. Introduction

Speechion (“we”, “us”, “our”) respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we process personal data when you use our mobile application, website, and related services (together, the “Services”).

We are committed to processing data lawfully, fairly, and transparently, in line with the General Data Protection Regulation (EU) 2016/679 (“GDPR”) and applicable EU and national laws.

2. Data controller

The controller responsible for your personal data is the entity operating Speechion as identified in the app store listing and on our website. For privacy requests, use the contact details in section 10.

3. What data we process

Depending on how you use the Services, we may process:

3.1 Account and device data

Information you provide when you contact us (e.g. email address, name), identifiers associated with your device, and technical logs needed to operate the Services securely.

3.2 Voice and content

Audio recordings, transcripts, reports, tasks, and other content you create in the app. Where processing occurs on your device as described in our product materials, such content may not leave your device unless you choose to export or sync it.

3.3 Usage and diagnostics

Aggregated or pseudonymous analytics may be used to improve stability and performance, subject to your settings and applicable law.

4. Purposes and legal bases (GDPR)

We process personal data only where we have a valid legal basis, such as:

  • Performance of a contract — to provide the Services you request.
  • Legitimate interests — to secure, improve, and support the Services, where not overridden by your rights.
  • Consent — where required (e.g. certain analytics or marketing communications), which you may withdraw at any time.
  • Legal obligation — where we must comply with law.

5. Retention

We keep personal data only as long as necessary for the purposes above, unless a longer period is required by law. On-device data is under your control; deletion in the app may erase local content in line with product behaviour.

6. Sharing and transfers

We do not sell your personal data. We may share data with processors who assist us (e.g. hosting, analytics) under strict agreements. Where data is transferred outside the EEA, we use appropriate safeguards such as Standard Contractual Clauses or adequacy decisions, as required by GDPR.

7. Security

We implement appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect personal data. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure; we encourage you to use device security features and keep the app updated.

8. Your rights

Under GDPR, you may have the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict processing, object, data portability, and to withdraw consent where processing is consent-based. You may also lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority. See also our GDPR page.

9. Children

The Services are not directed at children under the age where parental consent is required under applicable law. We do not knowingly collect personal data from such children.

10. Contact

For privacy questions or to exercise your rights, contact us at the email address published on our website or in the app. We will respond within the timeframes required by law.

11. Changes

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top will change when we do; material changes may be notified through the app or by email where appropriate.
